Our mission at the Rubin Lab is to improve outcomes for patients with malignant brain tumors by combining basic science and clinical research to explore the mechanisms of tumorigenesis and resistance to therapy. We are dedicated to understanding the intricate processes that drive these cancers, striving to develop more effective treatments and interventions to enhance patient care.
A key focus of our research is the impact of sexual differentiation on cancer risk and survival. We study various factors such as epigenetics, signaling pathways, metabolism and cellular senescence to determine how sex-specific differences influence tumor development and therapy responses. By investigating these areas, we aim to uncover insights that could lead to sex-specific therapeutic strategies, ultimately improving outcomes for diverse patient populations.
